Havredals launches Swedish oat drink for coffee - released exclusively to cafés

10 June, 2021

Today Havredals launches its new Havredryck Kafé & Kondis, specially adapted for coffee. The product has an increased foamability and lower sweetness compared to the original, but continues on the same retro flirty packaging design.

The idea behind Havredal's new Havredryck Kafé & Kondis is to let coffee play the main role. Therefore, the product has been developed to take a step back in both sweetness and oat flavour, but based on Havredal's original recipe. It is designed to mix well with all types of coffee and has a higher fat content that gives a full-bodied, creamy flavour with a slightly nutty character.

- We believe that oat drink will be as natural as cinnamon buns in cafés in the future, and thought it was appropriate to create a drink that could become a future classic in Swedish café environments, says Jens Johnsson, Communications Manager at Havredals.

Havredals Havredryck Kafé & Kondis has been developed in close cooperation with cafés and is designed to work well both in the brewing coffee and frothed in the cappuccino. Not only does the drink have a carefully developed recipe, but the packaging design has also played an important role in product development.

- The goal has been to develop a product that contributes to the overall experience for café guests. The design, which is inspired by graphic design from the 60s and 70s, we believe will fit in nicely with the lovely atmosphere that the cafés are so good at creating," says Jens Johnsson.

Like Havredal's other plant-based dairy options, Havredryck Kafé & Kondis is made in Sweden from oats and rapeseed grown by Swedish farmers.

Cafés and restaurants can now order Havredryck Kafé & Kondis via Outofhome.se or with direct delivery via Havredal's website.

The product is expected to be launched in the grocery market after the summer.
